Berisha writes about being a concierge that the building has never had and the building mgt is Midboro Management which is one of the finest in the city. The above review from Sofia R. Has to be a review from another building. The board is hands on and have kept the building meticulous. The “Sofia” review talks about the nearest train being the e train. The B and C train are 200 feet from the building and the 1 is a 3 minute walk. The E and 4,5,6 are not near the UWS! How is the block overdeveloped when all the buildings on W81st street were beautifully constructed before 1920. The area is restaurant heaven. The building is kept like a diamond and is warmin the winter and cool in the summer. The Doorman and live in super are professional and there at your every need finally, it’s one of the prettiest blocks in all of NYC with a front seat to the Thanksgiving Float Wednesday night blow-up. Sofia must have been turned down by the board for an apartment purchase!

I know this building and the neighborhood well for over 10 years. There is a negative vibration to this building, in my opinion. The people in the building are stiff and there is somthing shady about the building management. Their treatment of the building and of its tenants is stingy and excessively controlling (no plants allowed on your terrace?). The heating in the Winter time is poor, any maintenance issues you may have are scrutinized by management which prefers to absolve itself from any responsibility. The doormen gossip and are unreliable and there is a high turn over rate with them. The neighborhood lacks character. You can only have so many Irish pubs. A lot of good restaurants in the area end up closing, and the price of food at the local supermarket is overpriced. Transportation is another problem, as most cultural attractions and popular NYC neighborhoods are on the West side. That means you could end up having to take up to 3 different trains to get to the West side. The nearest train to this neighborhood is the E (and the green line 4,5,6) which is fine if you like to hang out in Queens. The tree-lined street is nice, but it’s overshadowed by the intense amount of over-development on it. The amount of narrow sky-rise buildings going up makes the area contrived and takes away from the laid back charm which should be Turtle Bay. The Trump Tower nearby blocks a good view of the East river. For these reasons and more, I’d say that for half a million to a million dollars, you’d definitely want to do much better than this building. Best of luck.

Great building with amazing amenities. The location could be better as there isn’t anything open other than a CVS after mid night. The neighborhood lacks some of the character that you find in many other NYC hoods but I do love living in the building.

I have never lived here, but reading the description I am very impressed. The fact that they have installed radiant heating rather than forced air heating shows that the owners truly want the very best for the renters of this complex. http://www.radiantheatingco.com

I was there concierge for three years, do yourself a favor and find something else, this company is nothing more than a big green lying machine and the thing that makes this building green is mostly the mold that is in most of the apartments in the building, I quit my job there not because of the tenants they were the best, but because of the bullshit involved and having to look tenant in the eyes, once you have worked here for a while it hard looking people in the eyes. I never seen any building run on 85% lies except these buildings, Michael Gubbins is a straight up loser who would auction his mom off if he taught for a minute he would lose his bonus for the year, If you try this place good luck i really mean that.

My family and I love it here. This is probably one of the greenest places in Manhattan and it is an eco-friendly “green” building, which is very important to us. The apartments are brand new and very modern. Finally, we found oru “oasis” in Manhatten.

Great building, its in a bit of no mans land downtown not quite in fidi and not in tribeca. I like it because it means there’s less commotion when I come home. Couple of blocks to the subway is nice, and since it’s a bit farther East there’s less traffic from WTC.
